How accurate are the colours of the fabrics?

The fabric colours represented in the photos may differ slightly from the actual product. All images are taken in natural light but their appearance on-screen can vary depending on the calibration of your computer monitor. If fabric colour is important, be sure to check with us before you purchase online.

Do you do samples?

We often get asked why our fabrics are still on the website when they are out of stock.

There are a number of reasons for this so let me explain. We tend to leave the fabrics on for the life of a catalogue (the length of time for this varies) and the reason for this is as follows. When a new catalogue get sent out*, customers will often shop online or refer to the website. They may not do this immediately and so we leave the fabrics on, otherwise we get asked why the fabric isn’t there. Another reason can be is that the fabric is coming back into stock very soon so we leave them on and sometimes fabrics come in and go back out of stock very quickly. So it could be that you are just getting unlucky. We are working on an ‘email me when back in stock function’ but to help for now we have changed the new section to ‘new and re-stocked’.

Sadly we aren’t Amazon, how fine that would be, so we don’t have a fabulously fan dangled system and of course there is human error and we will hold our hand up and say that yes some do get missed.

How long will my parcel take to come?

Why may I not be able to have my fabric even though it showed in stock?

All orders are subject to item availability. Our website is updated during the week to reflect stock levels but as we are a mail order business we receive postal, telephone and internet orders on a daily basis which are processed in numerical order. This unfortunately means the website cannot monitor intraday stock levels including the weekends. We are sorry for this and are looking into how to improve it.

You only have a standard shipping charge to the UK mainland - do you ship elsewhere?

Yes we ship anywhere. Please see our shipping page for all details on delivery to the rest of the world.

Can we visit your shop?

We are not a retail shop and therefore are not open to the public; however arrangements can be made for you to pick up your fabric if you prefer. If you want to do this then we will be more than happy to let you look though our fabric range so please contact us to make arrangements.

You can place an order on line at any time but if you prefer to speak to us we are open for enquiries and telephone orders between 9.30 and 4.30 Monday to Friday.

Do we have to order online?

No not at all, we can take your order over the phone or by post. Please see all our contact details where you can also print off an order form if you would like to post your request.

I used to buy from Croft Mill and wondered do you still send out your catalogues?

Yes we certainly do; as long as Big Al is inspired long may it reign. It is also available to read on screen or print off from the website. New catologues are posted online every 8 weeks or so as the postal one goes out. If you would like to read the present one or, if you would like us to email you a copy of the new one when it is ready please click here to read or fill in your details.

If you would like to be re-instated or indeed would like to begin getting a copy in the post please email fabrics@croftmill.co.ukand tell us you would like a Postal Catalogue. We will also need your Name, Address and Postcode.

Will my fabric all be from one dye lot?

We only ever fulfil an order for fabric from one dye lot off the same roll. Please ensure you order enough to complete your project in one order as we cannot guarantee we will have the same dye lot on your second purchase.

Will my fabric come rolled or folded?

All of our fabrics will be sent folded unless you are ordering large quantities which may come supplied on a roll.

Are your fabrics pre-shrunk?

Unless otherwise stated you should assume that fabrics are not pre-shrunk and treat them prior to use accordingly.

If I order fabric now will it be available in a few months time?

Our regular fabric lines are always available and kept in stock, however if a supplier discontinues a particular line we cannot guarantee that we will be able to supply the fabric for you and it may be taken off the website. We also cannot guarantee that the fabric would be from the same batch, so colour or texture may vary.

Our clearance or designer fabrics which come in limited quantities will only be available whilst stocks last.
